SANGAT: Music as Resistance, Music as Prayer

Performed live at India Community Center, Milpitas | Presented by India House Foundation & ICC

On June 7th, 2025, the India Community Center in Milpitas came alive with the powerful sounds of SANGAT—a musical collaboration between Sikh-American trumpeter and vocalist Sonny Singh and Afghan-American rabab maestro Qais Essar. Blending Punjabi spirituals, anti-colonial anthems, and devotional resistance music, the performance transcended borders of genre, language, and faith.

India House Foundation was proud to co-present this unforgettable evening, where music became a call to justice, a moment of reflection, and a celebration of our shared humanity.
