The Voice of Hind Rajab, a globally acclaimed film based on a real incident in Gaza, is reportedly blocked in India over “diplomatic sensitivity.”

This isn’t entirely new.

Tehran, an Indian film based on real events, could not be shown in India because it reflected geopolitical tensions. After multiple delays, it bypassed theatres as exhibitors hesitated over its sensitive subject.

Two films. Two paths.
Both shaped by geopolitics.

The question is no longer only about cinema.

It’s about how far diplomacy should extend in shaping what people can see.
