More Than a Local Tragedy—It’s a Global Warning!
In India, cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Prayagraj, and Varanasi were submerged by rising waters. Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir faced landslides and flash floods. However, the disaster wasn’t just India’s: cities like Jakarta have been crippled by overflowing rivers; flash floods have flattened towns in Bali; and China’s Hebei and regions around Beijing have evacuated thousands as rivers breached embankments.
But it isn’t the fault of governments alone.
As citizens and travelers, we must tread lightly, respect ecosystems, and demand sustainable practices. Governments must prioritize climate resilience and enforce stronger protections for forests, rivers, and glaciers.
The Himalayas are not only India’s lifeline—they are the world’s climate shield.
