Our mission is to engage the global Indian community with accurate, unbiased, and comprehensive information about the socioeconomic and political realities of India. As a diaspora-led organization, we are especially committed to fostering a deeper understanding among our global diaspora of India’s challenges and opportunities, enabling them to make informed decisions, engage in meaningful dialogue, and actively participate in efforts to drive positive change.
India’s diaspora is the world’s largest, numbering a staggering 32 million individuals. If the Indian diaspora were an independent country, it would be larger than three-quarters of all others. Members of the Indian diaspora now occupy the highest echelons of many major global corporations, as well as several of the world’s most powerful governments.
Indians living overseas still feel a strong connection to their Indian identity. We are proud of where we come from and the values we carry with us. India House is a platform to celebrate these values of hard work, integrity, humility, tolerance, and diversity. We envision a highly informed diaspora that can serve as a powerful voice for India – both in how it is represented to the rest of the world, and in supporting an India that lives up to its promise as a democratic beacon to the world.

We also share our learnings and insights with democracy-focused groups active in other parts of the world.
